NEET 2020 Examination: 10 Things You Need To Know

The foremost thing you need to know is the basic information about NEET 2020.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the only undergraduate medical entrance exam in India. AIIMS and JIPMER entrance exams have been replaced by NEET. So, going forward, the only entrance exam to get into the medical colleges in India and Abroad is only through NEET. NEET examination is conducted only once a year. Below is the important information for applying for NEET 2020:


  • NEET 2020 will be conducted on May 3, 2020.
  • The candidates can apply online from December 2, 2019, and the last date of application is December 31, 2019
  • Admit card will be released on March 27, 2020
  • Aspiring students can apply through NEET official website – ntaneet.nic.in


NEET 2020 Application Form Fees:

General category- Rs.1500
OBC non-creamy Layer- RS.1400
Transgender- Rs. 800
Payment for the application fee can be made through online or offline mode. For online mode, you can use a credit card, debit card, net banking and Paytm.

Mode of exam:

The exam will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based). The total number of questions is 180 questions which will be divided into 3 sections of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and there will only be the multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Furthermore, Biology has 2 divisions - Zoology and Botany which will be divided into 45 questions each.


Coming to the syllabus, the question paper will be based only on the NCERT syllabus. There will be no changes in the syllabus. The aspired students can make multiple attempts for NEET. There are no restrictions.>

Who can apply?

All Indian Students, NRIs, OCIs, PIO, and foreign national category candidates can apply for the examination.

  • General- 50%
  • PH Category- 45%
  • Reserved Category- 40%
