The Ministry of HRD has finally announced that the NEET exam has been postponed. This announcement is made based on the report that had been submitted by a committee comprising of the National Testing Agency and other experts. This committee was made by the Union HRD Minister, Mr. Ramesh Rokriyal to analyze the situation, whether it would be ok to conduct these entrance examinations during this pandemic or not?
This panel submitted their response today and finally, the decision has been made. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test will be conducted on the 13th of September, 2020.
In the last few weeks parents and students have taken over social media to show their concern and fears regarding the conduct of this examination.

In the previous digital interaction of the HRD Minister, he reassured all the parents and students that the government will always decide for their welfare. He added in the previous interaction that the students of India are an asset and the future of the nation. The health of students will always be given priority. The universities of India will be closed until August as per the government’s announcement.
NEET 2020 was scheduled to be held on July 26, 2020. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry has been postponing the exam for the safety of the students. Keeping in mind, more than 15 lakh students are going to appear for the NEET examination this year.
The centre, ICSE, CBSE has informed the Supreme Court that they have decided to not conduct the 10th and 12th board’s exams. These board exams were postponed from March to July 1-15th due to the pandemic. But now it has been canceled. The CBSE board has given its students the liberty to opt for marking based on past performance or write the examination later.
