The MHRD Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokriyal has said that a panel is going to review the situation for holding the entrance examination for NEET 2020. This examination is going to be held this month on July 26, 2020.
Mr. Ramesh Pokriyal Nishank has tweeted to all the committee comprising of the National Testing Agency and other experts to review the situation in the country and submit their recommendation to the MHRD latest by July 3, 2020. This action has been taken because of the concerns of parents and students pertaining to the current situation.
In the last few weeks parents and students have taken over social media to show their concern and fears regarding the conduct of this examination. NEET was postponed due to the pandemic but as the lockdown is open now, the government is trying its best to reduce the academic losses that students have faced due to the lockdown. But as we see, the coronavirus cases in the country are increasing on a large scale every day, parent’s concerns stand true to its core.
#StudentsLivesMatter, #HealthOverExams, #HealthOverJEENEET2020, etc are some of the hashtags that are trending on social media with students and parents asking for JEE and NEET’s postponement. There is also some suggestion of canceling the examination.
In the last digital interaction of the HRD Minister, he reassured all the parents and students that the government will always decide for their welfare. He added in the previous interaction that the students of India are an asset and the future of the nation. The health of students will always be given priority. The universities in India will be closed until August as per the government’s announcement.
Now, all we have to do is to wait for the committee’s response regarding the conduct of this examination. Stay tuned for more updates regarding your career.
