Eligibility Criteria for MBBS Abroad

Every country has its own rules and regulations set for its Medical institutes. For Indian students, the general guidelines to pursue medicine abroad is as follows:

  1. Students are required to attain the age of 17 years old on or before December 31 on the year of admission. 
  2. Students must have completed class 12 from a recognized board. 
  3. Students must have cleared the class 12 exam with an aggregate percentage of at least 50% and above in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, including English. 
  4. Students must qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). It is a mandatory entrance examination for students who seek to pursue medicine in India and Abroad.

Admission Process

Admissions for MBBS Abroad is a hassle-free process. However, students have to follow the below-mentioned procedure for admission:

  • Admission Form - Once the students decide on their ideal university, they have to fill in the application form with all the necessary details.
  • Submit the documents - After the submission of the Application form, students are required to submit all the required documents including the 

  1. Class X marsheet and Certificates
  2. Class XII marksheet and Certificates
  3. NEET Scorecard
  4. Passport size photographs
  5. Original Passport and photocopy of the same
  • Passport Application - In case you do not have a passport, you can apply for the same at the Indian Government Portal. 
  • Receive of Invitation Letter - Once your application for the MBBS course is accepted by the university, you will receive your Acceptance/ Invitation letter from them.
  • Visa Application - With the help of the Invitation letter, the students can apply for visa in order to be able to travel to the chosen country to pursue their medical career. 
  • Visa Stamping - The last step for the admission process is visa stamping. Students must get their visa stamped from the respective Embassy of the country applied for.

Q1: Is there any specific entrance examination prior to joining MBBS Abroad?

A: Indian students who wish to study MBBS Abroad must qualify NEET before applying for MBBS Abroad. NEET is a mandatory exam for all Indian students who planned to study medicine. Furthermore, there is no additional entrance examination at the university once the student qualify NEET. 

Q2: What is the medium of instruction at the Medical Universities Abroad?

A: The medium of instruction for MBBS course abroad is English. However, students are advised to learn the local language to make Communication easier with the locals as well as during clinical rotations. 

Q3: Can I do an internship and practice medicine in India after MBBS program Abroad?

A: Yes, after MBBS Degree from Abroad from an NMC approved medical university, Indian students can practice medicine in India post qualifying FMGE.   

Q4: Do I have to return to India during the Holidays while pursuing MBBS Abroad?

A: Medical Universities Abroad provide winter holidays for 15 days as well as summer holidays for a month or 2. Some students choose to return to India during the summer holidays while some choose to stay back. This decision entirely depends on the students.
