Dress code for any occasion is as per the need and requirement of that occasion. NTA i.e National Testing Agency has released the guidelines for dress code for the upcoming NEET exams, which will be held on 7 May 2023. You can find the official dress code on the NTA website bulletin board.
As per the newly released dress code guidelines, it says that all male candidates are to wear light colored half sleeves shirts or t-shirts with trousers, while female candidates can wear light color half sleeves shirts and trousers.
Dress Code for Males | NEET(UG) – 2023
- Candidates must wear a mask and gloves.
- Trousers and simple pants preferred
- Kurta pajamas are not allowed.
- Half-sleeve shirts or T-shirts only. No full-sleeve shirts are allowed on the day of the examination as per the NEET dress code.
- Shoes are prohibited. It is advisable for candidates to wear sandals and slippers.
- Clothes should be without zip pockets, lots of pockets, big buttons and clothes with elaborate embroidery, overall clothes should be on the lighter side.
Dress Code for Females | NEET(UG) – 2023
- Female candidates must also wear a mask and gloves as per COVID-19 safety guidelines set by the authority
- Palazzo is not allowed for females
- It is advised for females not to wear clothes that have elaborate embroidery, flowers, brooches, or buttons.
- No clothing with full arm-length sleeves. Female candidates should wear half sleeve clothes.
- Leggings are not allowed in exam hall.
- No jeans with big pockets, as fashionable clothing will generally not be allowed for females.
- No jewelry like earrings, nose rings, rings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets or anklets. Metal detectors may cause an unnecessary hassle if the metal is found on the person.
- It is best to avoid high heels and thick sole shoes and instead simple sandals or slippers are advised. Low heel footwear is also allowed.
Barred items as per NTA guidelines
- Any food items opened or packed, water bottle, etc is prohibited.
- No item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pen, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, etc. should be brought to exam hall.
- Other items like Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap, etc. d) Any Watch/Wristwatch, Bracelet, Camera, etc.
- No communication devices like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band, etc.
- Any ornaments/metallic items.
- Any other item which could be used for unfair means, by hiding communication devices like a microchip, camera, Bluetooth device, etc.
Importance of NEET Dress Code 2023
The guidelines have been implemented in the light of the recent COVID restrictions, and also in general to keep students safe and to streamline the process of taking exams neat and hassle-free for all the candidates appearing for the NEET 2023 exam. The dress code will acquaint the candidates with items and clothing which is allowed and which are not. To avoid chaos within the exam, it’s heavily suggested that candidates shouldn’t wear any of the items that are prohibited within the examination hall. The NTA NEET dress codes guide the aspirants about the kind of clothing, footwear, and other items to be worn on the day of the medical entrance exam. The dress code will be strictly implemented on all aspirants to prevent malpractices and cheating.
