With the increase in the number of Indian students enrolling in the medical universities of China to pursue their higher education in the field of medicine, the education ministry of the country has authorized 45 local medical colleges out of 200 to register international students to teach MBBS program in English medium starting from the initial year.
This year, China has seen a huge number of students from India enrolling in Chinese medical colleges to study MBBS in China. Due to affordable tuition fees as compared to countries like India, the USA, and the UK, a huge majority of students from India and other Asian countries are opting for China to study MBBS abroad.
Currently, about 23,000 Indian students are pursuing different courses in various Chinese Universities, as against over 28,000 students hailing from Pakistan. In totality, about five lakhs international students are currently studying in various Chinese Universities.
Out of the number mentioned above, about 21,000 Indian students have enrolled for the MBBS program in the medical universities of China, which is an all-time high number.
Taking into the consideration of the growing interest among Indian students seeking admission in Chinese medical universities, the Indian Embassy on Monday October 7, 2019 said that the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE) has successfully approved 45 medical colleges in the country in order to offer MBBS program in complete English medium to all the foreign students.
The Chinese MOE has put great emphasis on the universities which are not in the list of 45 approved medical colleges to not admit international students for the English MBBS program.
This initiative taken by the Education Ministry of China will result in bridging the gap of Indian students and their dream of becoming a qualified Doctor.
