The year 2020 has brought a lot of changes in all our lives. Our country has also made a difference in many fields. One of the changes is a positive shift by introducing a New Educational Policy.
The NEP aimed to universalize the pre-primary education which comes in the age range of 3-6 by 2025. It will provide foundational literacy and numeracy to all the students of the nation by 2025. There will also be special funding for providing underprivileged students for this.
There will be universal access to education for students within the age of 3-18, This aims to provide free and compulsory education for all the students of that age.
The New structure of the curriculum
The New Educational Policy will also make our country a global study destination. There will be no hard separation of streams that were done before.
Though the new policy is also meant to implement the compulsory teaching of Hindi language until class 5, the three-language formula will still be valid. This includes the usage of Regional, Hindi, and English language in teaching the students at school.
A new apex body will be constituted to take care of the education system of the country named as Rashtriya Shiksha Ayogya or The National Education Commission. This body will be headed by the Prime Minister of the country.
The MHRD has also been renamed as the Ministry of Education. All the alone standing health science, legal, technical, and agricultural universities will now aim to become multi-disciplinary institutions for the welfare of the students.
Examinations will be conducted only for classes 3, 5, and 8. For classes 10 and 12, board examinations will be continued with a different style. Public and private higher educational Institutes will be governed by the Higher Education Commission of India with the same norms.
A National Scholar portal will also be established to check out the program of the beneficiary. The New Educational Policy aims to get 100% literacy on the youth. Both the Central Government and the State government is working to get 6% of the GDP for the Education sector of our nation.
