CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2021 Cancelled

As already notified by many state boards, the class 10 board exam has already been cancelled and a discussion is still going on about the criteria of promotion for these students to the next class on a performance basis. 

As per the CBSE notice, Class 10 would be promoted on the basis of the internal assessments. For the criteria of promotion it is already notified that The results of Class Xth board will be prepared on an objective criterion to be developed by the board. Any student who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam and when the conditions are conducive to hold the examination.

The same notice also states that the board exams for class 12 would be postponed and the final decision would be taken after analysing the situation as on June  1. Precious weeks, there were discussions among the education secretaries brainstorming about the alternate ways and strategies of conducting the examination like shortening the length of the exam, conducting it only for a few  core subjects, etc.

Overviewing the current covid situation in India, in yesterday’s meeting after much deliberation it was decided that the 2021 board exams for class 12 should be cancelled.

The PM informed the waiting parents, students and teachers about the ame via his twitter account.

In reference to the same announcement, CBSE has issued a notification dated 1 June 2021, states, The class 12 assessment will be made as per well-defined objective criteria in time bound manner. It is decided that the students who are not satisfied with the assessments, an option to appear in the examination would be provided by the CBSE as and when the situation becomes conducive.

The government has yet to take a stand and provide the clear picture to the students regarding the UG Entrance competitive exams which usually depend on the date and result of Class 12 board exams.
