NBEMS Introduces Mandatory Time-Bound Sections in All MCQ-Based Exams

To foster exam integrity and security, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, in its latest public notice, has announced the implementation of mandatory time-bound sections in all MCQ-based examinations. This decision effectively encompasses prominent examinations such as s NEET-PG, NEET-MDS, NEET-SS, FMGE, DNB-PDCET, GPAT, DPEE, FDST, and FET conducted on a computer-based platform.

As per these new directives:

  1. The examination will now include multiple time-bound sections. For say, in NEET PG 2024, candidates will encounter 5 sections (A, B, C, D, & E), each comprising 40 questions with 42 minutes for each section. Candidates must complete each section within the stipulated time with no option to review or alter responses after the allotted time.
  2. Candidates can mark questions for review, allowing them to revisit marked questions within a section before the time lapses. This is to note that, responses to these questions will be evaluated based on the marking scheme outlined in the information bulletin.
  3. This new examination format will be in effect for GPAT 2024, NEET-PG 2024, and all forthcoming computer-based tests conducted by NBEMS.

Candidates are requested to refer to the respective examination’s information bulletin for a comprehensive understanding of the examination pattern.

For any queries or clarifications, candidates can reach out to NBEMS via the student helpline number 011-45593000 or through their web communication portal.
