Registration Open for June FMGE 2021

National Medical Council, earlier known as Medical Council of India conducts the screening Test, known as Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE), for all the Medical graduates of Abroad.  

It is an examination of licensure administered by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in India. The test is compulsory for an Indian citizen with a medical degree from a university outside India to practice within the country.  

Indian doctors holding the basic medical degree from any country must qualify this screening test. As a condition for that the medical university of abroad must have been listed in the WHO international directory of Medical Schools, WDOMS  and recognized by the NMC(MCI).

For the students who have completed their MBBS in Abroad and wish to study or practice medicine in India, it is mandatory to appear and qualify Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE). The governing body for the same is the National Board of Education (NBE) has already announced the important dates for all examinations administered by it.

The essential criteria for this exam includes that candidates must be in the possession of a primary medical qualification as confirmed by the Indian Embassy for a recognised qualification for enrollment.

All the candidates appearing must have qualified the final examination for their Primary Medical Qualification i.e. MBBS or Equivalent degree on/ before 30th April 2021. Also the foreign medical degrees should be attested either by the Embassy of India or should be Apostilled by the appropriate authority of the foreign country concerned. Kindly note that the apostille/attestation is to be in accordance with the requirements of Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 abolishing the requirement of legalisation for Foreign Public Document (Apostille Convention).

It is requested for the students to please note all the important dates if they fulfil the above set of the eligibility criteria.

The students are advised to keep all the scanned copies of all these given document ready before applying for the FMGE June 2021 Exam:

  1. Passport-size Photograph
  2. Signature
  3. Left and Right Thumb Impression
  4. Proof of possessing Primary Medical Qualification
  5. Eligibility Certificate/Admission Letter
  6. Identity Proof of Citizenship.
