Yerevan in Armenia houses one of the Top Medical University in the region, which was established in 1991 - The University of Traditional Medicine. Over the last 26 years, the university has achieved many milestones and developed new standards for quality education in the region. Academic standards, research projects and the teaching methods adopted by the university help the students imbibe additional knowledge to deal with the complexities of the modern world. The Ministry of Education & Science had acknowledged the contribution of the university and accredited with one of the highest level of recommendation.

This improvisation helps the students to incorporate traditional as well as modern techniques during the learning process and achieve their goals. By 1996, UTM could offer degrees in two faculties - Faculty of General Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry.
