Dnepropetrovsk State Medical Academy is one of the top Medical Universities to study MBBS in Ukraine. It came into existence on September 15, 1916 on the basis of Ekaterynoslavsky higher female courses Institute. The institute procured the status of State Academy in 1920 and it was confirmed again to Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) in Ukraine in 1994 by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 224 dated 20 April 1994.
Base and formation of the academy was led by the famed scientists of the world such as VP Karpov, Oleg S.Abrazhanov, O. Drzhevetsky, L. Gromashevsky, L.S. Halperin, M.F. Rudnev, G.F. Tsomakion, N.S. Kakhiani, M.S. Stanishevskaya, M.O. Kabanov, O.I. Talyantsev, I. Troitsky, S.M. Kompaneets, M.V. Donici, AV Padlewski etc.
Academy has 646 teachers; among them are 98 Doctors of Medical Sciences, 359 Candidates of Medical sciences, 1 Academician of Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, 1 Corresponding member of National. In total, academy has employed over 1100 employees.
This academy has received a highest (4th) level of accreditation among all the Universities of Ukraine. Also this is the only University in entire Ukraine which provides training to the international students in its all faculties and preparatory department.
Dnepropetrovsk State Medical Academy accommodated its students in 7 hostels. More than 2700 students can live in these hostels. Out of 7 hostels, 3 hostels are specifically for International students. All these hostel rooms are fully furnished and security guarded. The room has all the basic amenities like beds, desks, chairs, cold and hot running water, central heating, Internet access and suitable lighting for both studying as well as relaxation. Each room has an attached kitchen. Students can also prepare food as per their taste.
Students club of the University organizes many cultural, intellectual and sports activities for the students in order to keep their body & minds fit. Through the efforts of the leaders and creative youth groups interesting events, concerts, holiday parties are organized.
Club students are enthusiastic, talented choreographers, vocalists, screenwriters and directors.
Students representative are available to resolve the queries of the students while staying on or off campus.
