An ideal choice for international students to study MBBS is Donetsk National Medical University. DNMU is among the largest medical Universities of the former USSR.
It was established in 1930 as the M.Gorky Donetsk Medical Institute. Later on, after the Second World War, it was renamed as Stalino Medical Institute and then many more names were conferred to the institute with a great history, year by year. Then finally after getting the university status in 1994 and the National medical university status in 2008, Universitys name again changed to Donetsk National Medical University.
Its campus also has a separate shuffling of history. Earlier due to Russian and Ukrainian conflicts on Donbass region, the main campus of the University was shifted to Mariupol City (2 faculty were already allocated), then because of the conflicts, the campuses again relocated all over Ukraine. DNMU clinched the first position to start the faculties of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy in English as a language of instruction to the foreign students in 1991 after the independence of Ukraine. In 2016 DNMU firstly started training of students in the French language also.
University ranks first among the Ukrainian medical universities, constantly since 2001 till 2018 enforced by the rating of Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education of Ukraine. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, regulated & approves all the degree offered by the University to the international students. DNMU is documented in the list of International Medical Education Directory (IMED) and also have the recognition from World Health Organization (WHO), Indian Medical Council, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, European Council of Medicine and General Medical Council of UK. With this accreditation, students will be able to appear for the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE) and can enter the Postgraduate Medical (Residency) training in the United States.
The University holds the joint researches and partnership with many scientific institutions of former USSR and at international level collaborators like Poland Medical Academy, Cambridge University, Virden University, etc.
At present, total 15000 students are studying in the University; out of which 2000 students are international students coming from 96 countries of the globe such as India, Sweden, Iran, Iraq, Ghana, Bangladesh, Nigeria, South-Africa, Singapore, Australia, etc. As far as employers are concerned; currently, there are more than 900 distinguished academicians working in almost 70 different departments for Donetsk NMU.

The university claims the guarantee of providing accommodation facility to all international students enrolled with the University. It has a total of 9 hostels in number for accommodating almost four thousand students. Dormitory rooms at the campus hostel can accommodate 2 or 3 students in a room.
