Kazan Federal University has covered a long distance of Imperial to Federal status. The University was established in November, 1804 (215 years old University) by the Emperor Alexander I by signing the Affirmative letter and the Charter. 2010 came up with the grant of ‘Federal University’ status by the decision of the Government of Russian Federation. In 2015, for the first time ever, Kazan Federal University was included in Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 301-350 rank group holding the 4th place amongst 18 Russian Universities that also appeared present in the list. Ranked in 601-800 group by Times Higher Education 2019 and many others.
Kazan Federal University is considered to be the best University to pursue MBBS in Russia. Kazan University is an acknowledged center of academic excellence engaged in various forms of international cooperation as it has 300+ cooperation agreements with partners from 64 countries and also Member of 15 International Academic Associations.
Over 44,000 students are enrolled in the University out of which, 7,155 international students from 98 countries. There are about 4,000 faculty members and 157 invited professors from world-renowned Universities & research centres.

Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology has more than 60 subdivisions, offers various programs in the field of Medicine like General Medicine (MBBS), Genetics, Physiology, etc.
KFU provides separate housing facilities to Indian students enrolling in the University for MBBS. All the hostel rooms are equipped with every required facility like air-conditioner, almirahs, mattresses, furniture, Wi-Fi, etc.
