About University

All the students who are planning to study MBBS in Russia, Volgograd State Medical University is believed to be one of the best universities to study MBBS in Russia. Initially, the university was known as Stalingrad Medical Institute which was established in the year 1935 in the city of VOLGOGRAD.

The Institute got the status of Academy in the year 1993 and the status of the university in 2003. At present, the university is being headed by the eminent Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and a renowned scientist, Professor Vladimir I. Petrov.

The Russian Ministry for Education has accredited the University for teaching both the Russia and Foreign students. The university has been training international students since 1962. In the year 2000, the university got approval to teach all its foreign students the curriculum in the English language.

The Volgograd State Medical University is recognized by various medical council bodies including MCI, FAIMER, etc. and is enlisted with The World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS). All the graduates from the Volgograd State Medical University are eligible to work in any part of the world. Since long the university has been in collaboration with the WHO, British Council, United States Agency for International Development, UNESCO and World Federation of Medical Education.

At present, the university has 763 highly qualified and experienced professors with 11 academic instructors, 401 associate professors, and 96 professors. Currently, the university has 900 Indian students who are pursuing MBBS. Students who complete their undergraduate program of 6 years are awarded MD degree (Equivalent to MBBS in India) at the Volgograd State Medical University. The university also offers post-graduate programs that have a duration of 3 years.

Till date, the university has produced more than 3000 highly qualified and trained physicians, pediatricians, pharmacists and dentists who are working in various other countries.

Accommodation

The university offers 7 hostels with to all its students with all modern facilities. There is separate accommodation for boys and girls on a sharing basis, University hostels also offer private rooms to the students. Free Wi-Fi Internet Facility will be enabled in every corner of the university. All hostels are under the protection of the police for 24 hours. Hostels are very close to the University.

Student Life

The university believes in the comprehensive development of every student and thus encourages students to participate in various cultural events and activities. For keeping students physically fit and active the university offers sports clubs where students can get themselves to enroll and enjoy various sports such as basketball, football, volleyball, etc.
