The First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Petersburg was established in 1897 in St. Petersburg, Russia, as the first Russian medical college for women. After its 118 years, it has become one of the leading medical colleges in Russia and the world. As well as the University is one of the top ten medical schools in Europe.
Since the inception, it has adopted, as its main principle, a unique teaching methodology, which is based on combination of the best Russian medical educational traditions with methods of Western Education System.
Pavlov First St. Petersburg State Medical University is the only higher medical school in the city that has a polyclinic attached to the University.
SPSMU provides accommodation to all its international students. All rooms are allocated to all students on sharing basis of 3-5 of same genders. The rooms are comfortable and completely furnished will modern amenities such as Free Wi-Fi, TV set and telephone. The university had created a special area where all the students can socialize together and get to know about each other’s culture, tradition, etc. Hostels are located very closely to the university. Student’s security is the main aim of the university; therefore all hostels are under police surveillance.
The university believes in the holistic development of every student. On regular interval the university organizes various cultural events and activities to keep all students culturally connected.
For physical fitness, the university offers sports club where students can enroll themselves and enjoy playing basketball, football, swimming, gymnasium, etc.
