Proposal of MCI (Medical Council of India) – NEET score validity for three years ; has now been accepted by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is compulsory for pursuing MBBS from abroad and every year, about 7,000 students from India fly abroad to countries like Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, China, etc. (the most popular medical education destinations), to study medicine.
The Government authorities have taken a great step towards the student’s encouragement for medical education and strategizing their plans to study at the Top Medical Universities in Abroad. According to the present scenario, the validity of NEET score is one year (the year of attempt). Now it has been extended for three years in India.
The officials of the Ministry said- This is being done to help students who might be living outside India and are willing to come back after becoming doctor .
The Ministry believes that this step will save the inconvenience of taking NEET all over again if for some reason they cant join a medical institution in the year, they attempted NEET.
NEET is mandatory for all the medical aspirants, seeking admission for MBBS in India or Abroad.
Near about 15 Lakh students have registered for NEET UG 2019 to appear for the exam on Sunday 5th May 2019.
