The National Testing Agency (NTA) has enabled the application form correction facility for NEET UG 2026, allowing registered candidates to review and update specific information submitted during the registration process. The edit window opened on March 12, 2026, and will remain accessible until March 14, 2026, 11:50 PM.
The correction facility is available through the official NEET portal, where applicants can log in using their application number and password to make the permitted changes. The agency has clarified that this is a time-bound and one-time opportunity for candidates to rectify errors in their application forms.
NEET UG is conducted annually for admission to undergraduate medical and healthcare programs across India. The NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled for May 3, 2026, and will take place in offline mode at designated exam centres nationwide.
The correction window is intended to help candidates correct mistakes made during the application process. Even small discrepancies in personal or academic details can create issues during later stages, such as document verification, admit card generation, or counselling.
Candidates are therefore encouraged to carefully review their application forms and make necessary updates before the deadline.
The NTA has allowed modifications in several sections of the application form. These edits are mainly related to personal details, educational qualifications, and examination preferences.
Candidates may update the following information:
Applicants can also revise their exam city preferences and the language or medium of the question paper, depending on availability.
In addition, candidates can modify their current and permanent address information to ensure correct communication and exam centre allocation.
The agency has also provided an option for candidates who used identity proof other than Aadhaar during registration to update or correct their identification details within the correction window.
If the corrections result in a change in the application fee category, candidates will be required to pay the additional fee online to finalize the modifications. However, if the updated information lowers the application fee category, the previously paid amount will not be refunded.
With only a few days available for corrections, applicants are advised not to delay the process. Heavy traffic on the website near the closing hours may cause technical issues, potentially preventing candidates from completing their updates on time.
Once the correction window closes on March 14, 2026, the application data will be locked and used for further examination procedures.
Students appearing for NEET UG 2026 should ensure that all details in their application form match their official documents to avoid complications during the examination process.
