NTA Responds to Reports of Malpractice in NEET UG 2026

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a press release following reports of alleged irregularities and malpractice during the NEET (UG) 2026 examination. As per the agency, the matter is currently being investigated, and the agency assured students and parents that strict security measures were followed during the exam.

The NEET UG 2026 exam was conducted on May 3 under a “full security protocol.” The agency clarified that question papers were transported in GPS-tracked vehicles and carried unique watermark identifiers for tracking. Examination centres were also monitored using AI-assisted CCTV systems connected to a central control room. In addition, biometric verification was used to confirm the identity of candidates, while 5G jammers were installed to prevent electronic cheating.

The agency stated that the examination process was conducted smoothly across all centres.

On May 7, the agency received information regarding alleged malpractice activities in connection with NEET UG 2026. This information was shared with central investigation agencies on May 8 for verification and action.

The National Testing Agency said it is fully cooperating with the authorities by providing examination-related data and technical support.

Students and parents must remain calm while saying that the honesty and hard work of genuine candidates should not be questioned because of the ongoing investigation.

Any future action will be taken in consultation with the Ministry of Education after the investigation is completed.
