In a recent crackdown done by the National Medical Commission (NMC) it found out that there were MBBS admission done after the cut-off date of September 30th 2023. The last date of admission to MBBS seat was set by the supreme court of India.
In Spite of the deadline, more than 600 students were given admission to MBBS seats in different parts of India. Several states such as Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal conducted MBBS counselling (through online and offline mode) beyond the cutoff date of September 30th. Any such counselling will be considered invalid and students admitted will be discharged.
The state of Uttar Pradesh has more than 8000 MBBS seats and 65 medical colleges including 35 in government sector and 30 in private one, providing MBBS. Inspite of this the fate of students who took admission via NEET 2023 counselling hangs in balance after NMC declared all admission done beyond September 30, 2023 as invalid.
