NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: Provisional Answer Key Released by NTA

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Provisional Answer Keys for NEET UG 2026 re-exam, which was held on June 21 across various cities of India. The answer key is released with an aim to maintain transparency and to ensure the earliest declaration of results.

However, NTA has also opened the Challenge Window while releasing the Provisional Answer Keys, but OMR sheet scanning is still in progress. This is done so that candidates can review the provisional answer keys at the earliest and can challenge any question if they feel it deserves a fresh look.

Candidates can challenge the provisional answer keys online as per the following details:

Important Details That Candidates Must Note

  • Candidates must submit the challenge only through the online mode during the stipulated time period, along with the requisite fee. Challenges submitted via any other mode, such as email, fax, etc., will not be entertained.
  • Candidates can raise a challenge against a question only under his/her own Question Paper Series Code (the Series Code printed on the cover of the Test Booklet taken home from the examination centre on 21.06.2026). If a challenge is accepted by the expert panel, the final correction will be applied uniformly to all candidates across all four sets. Therefore, candidates do not have to raise the same challenge separately under multiple Series Codes.
  • The Answer Key finalised after the challenge will be stated as final. No challenges will be entertained after the closing of the Challenge Window or once the results are declared.
  • The processing fee of Rs. 200/- per question challenged will be fully refunded for every challenge that is accepted by the subject matter experts.
  • The individual scanned OMR response sheets are not part of this stage, as OMR scanning is currently in progress. Candidates can separately view their individual scanned OMR response sheets once scanning is complete.

The candidates can view the Provisional Answer Keys on the official NEET website - https://neet.nta.nic.in/ and challenge them, if required. The payment of the processing fee must be done by 28 June, 2026, and no challenges will be accepted without the receipt of the processing fee.
