The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that NEET UG 2026 will be conducted again after the cancellation of the medical entrance exam held on May 3. The decision comes amid allegations of paper leaks and examination irregularities that caused widespread concern among students and parents nationwide.
As per the NTA’s official update on X, the NEET UG 2026 re-test has been scheduled for June 21, 2026, with approval from the Government of India.
The agency has also confirmed that candidates will not have to submit fresh applications for the examination. No additional fee will be charged from students appearing for the re-exam.
The NEET UG 2026 examination was cancelled after claims surfaced that a leaked “guess paper” closely resembled the actual question paper. The allegations soon turned into a nationwide controversy, raising serious concerns over the credibility and security of the examination system.
Following the controversy, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) initiated an investigation into the matter. Reports indicate that multiple arrests have already been made while authorities continue investigations across several states.
The cancellation has left lakhs of NEET aspirants stressed and uncertain about their future plans. Many students had already started preparing for counselling and admission procedures after completing the highly competitive examination.
Students and parents are now waiting for official announcements regarding fresh admit cards, updated exam guidelines, and revised counselling schedules.
The issue has also led to legal and political reactions across the country. The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has reportedly approached the Supreme Court seeking independent supervision of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination process to ensure fairness and transparency.
Meanwhile, students have been advised to rely only on official updates released by the NTA and government authorities regarding the NEET UG 2026 re-test.
